Highly recommend thhis shop. Not only did they take on a challenging ball joint replacement on a Sunday afternoon, they stayed late until the job was finished. They spotted and fixed the potentially disastrous issue VT tire failed to see two days prior. They were incredibly helpful, informative and friendly. Ricky made sure we were up to date with the progress of the repair. My car has over 140k m on it and it is, once again, running like new. Thank you guys so much!
I have been to countless dealerships, automotive places, private mechanics and until today had never been to Sears. I wasn't actually aware that they had an auto shop near me. I will never take my car anywhere else. This was the easiest most pleasant and stress-free experience I have ever had. Unfortunately my car is kind of a piece of junk and every year I replace the same stuff on it and it usually costs me between 900-1500. I had that same stuff replaced today at Sears for less than 300. Normally this is also a two day process but sears did it in just a couple of hours. They kept me informed via text and phone calls and this was just an all around great experience.
Had a really confusing time with them. I brought my gf's car in for an oil change and they said they'd check out the check engine light around 1015. I had an appt. We went to the mall to take care of a few errands. Noon rolls around and we have not hear from them. We stop in and they let us know the cylinders had low compression. I leave and receive a phone call 40 mins later (1240). The attendant just says the only fix possible is a brand new engine. 3000+ dollars. I asked a few questions about the diagnostic process and attendant didn't have much detail. I say we will not be paying for a new engine and to just take care of the oil change. We decided to pick up the next day because we were already home. We pick up the car and learn that the mechanic did not even do the oil change.. So I paid 90 dollars for the diagnostic process but no oil change. I will be heading somewhere else for the oil change that I need!
Great convenient hours, nice people but Sears has another agenda... The way Sears forces these guys to do work they basically have to overcharge for everything due to a crappy computer pricing system. Unfortunate. I would come here for quick maintenance on a weekend or getting ready for winter but any real work especially on an older vehicle, take it to a trusted local garage.
I called ahead to see if I could come in for an oil change. One of the guys said that it wasn't a problem. I got there within 10 minutes, waited 10 minutes to be helped, which is okay there were other people. He told me that it was a good day because they didn't have many oil changes. They told me it would be 45 minutes so I left and went to the mall. After over an hour, I went back and my car wasn't even taken back yet. I told them how terrible their customer service was. They said they would get in done in 10 minutes, clearly only because I was very unhappy. The guys that were at my car didn't even apologize. I took my keys and left. Very disappointing when I called ahead and they told me they were not busy when I got there!
TL;DR Went in for oil change($40), they try to get us to buy a new engine ($3000)
