I had an unhappy experience with this clinic. I visited the dermatologist on the advice of my kidney doctor, because I have a transplant and take medications that make me prone to skin cancer. The dermatologist found extensive areas with "diffuse actinic keratosis" on the backs of my hands and forearms, which are exposed to the sun a lot. These are pre-cancerous regions needing treatment. She prescribed an expensive new ointment to apply to the skin. But when I picked up the prescription, the tiny tube said it was adequate to treat only two square inches -- a small fraction of the affected area. I emailed and phoned the dermatologist to express my concern. The dermatologist said don't worry, a small drop of the compound will spread around under the skin and be more than enough to treat all the pre-cancerous cells on your arms. But that's not what the drug manufacturer says. Who to believe? I don't feel that I got good care.
I had a couple of pilar cysts removed from my scalp here. Jacqueline and her assistant were very friendly and professional, and both visits were quick and pleasant.
Dorset Street Dermatology is fantastic. I have visited the office and so has one of my children. The staff is always exceptionally friendly, the wait is minimal, and the service is great. They do a great job at patient education as well. I would highly recommend them.
