Always love the Outback. The service at the Burlington location was awesome, (again, as always. I am a bit saddened by what is happening to one of my favorite appetizers; the Ahi tuna. Used to be served on a long plate, with stalks of Romaine lettuce, and the two sauces. I'm okay with the fact that they've done away with the green sauce (i think everyone liked the orange-y colored sesame sauce best) but the plate is smaller. They slowly edited out the lettuce. Then one sauce. Now, you get the tuna resting on some type of wilted slaw, with a tart thousand-island style dressing on it, that clashes with the tuna dipping sauce. The tuna itself seems to have dropped in quality over time (in various locations, in multiple states, over the last several years). Now the sesame sauce on this visit also seemed slightly different. Instead of a brighter, clean "yum-yum"-color, it had a sort of greyed down appearance, and taste... SORT of like it normally does... But not like I always looked forward to.
Waitress was ok, she tried but screwed up my order. Food was great. Bartenders sucked. 20 minutes to get a drink. The place was dead and we were sitting in the bar area. Bartender was more concerned about looking at her phone than making drinks. Worst experience I ever had there.
People would always rather pay a tad more for top quality, I think.
This visit was fine. I hope it stays fine, or even gets better!
Someone in the corporate offices is making the deadly decision to increase profits by dropping quality. This is always a huge mistake.
New Years Eve at Outback! We go to Outback about 3 times a month, always good. Tonight was a difficult one for them...seemed like maybe they had several employees call in or something. That being said, the manager was extremely attentive and understanding, in addition he proactively talked to customers letting them know they were a little behind, but they would be taken care of. We overheard a couple of impatient and rude customers talking to the manager...he was always professional and sincere listening and responding to their complaints, generously compensating them for the wait. All of the staff were friendly and polite, our waiter Joey was smiling and positive...even though we know he must have had a stressful shift. I appreciate the fact that none of the employees blamed anyone for mistakes or the long wait. I'm sure it was just one of those days. Everyone was courteous and we enjoyed our night out as a family, we think everyone working did an excellent job dealing with less than optimal circumstances.
Food was great but very salty. Servers very amiable and attentive. That day the restaurant closed early, the reason was unknown
Tonight, 12/28/17 my wife and I went to the Outback in South Burlington. A pleasant & friendly server. A little slow considering a small crowd, but the food was good & plentiful & reasonably priced. That's the good news. Sadly, we were placed between two families with constantly talking/yelling young ones (O.K. to discipline your kids, or better yet have two less drinks & pay for child care) & a regularly sceaming infant. They easily could have been quietly segregated in another spot. Constant bizarre & odd music played too loud. Cold night, cool inside. A grade/review of C.
