Their templater (Nate) is accurate, experienced and excellent with my clients. The office staff turns on a dime to take care of any issues that may come up, and the installation crew works through jobsite issues in the moment, working through things that have nothing to do with them, to get the job done. This is critical, there are many install crews that will walk off a site if everything isn't perfect when they arrive.
We ordered our kitchen counter top through Curtis Lumber and we are pleased with the quality and service of the Top Shop. We had a small issue with the counter top after about one years worth of use and the company corrected it without any charge. By the way, the issue was not with the Top Shop,but rather with the company that fabricated the counter top in another state.
This team is great. Feel comfortable working with them!
I have been installing for Top Shop for 6 or so years now. I find the criticism unwarranted and unfair. Unfortunately, the process from template to install does take a couple weeks. A year ago we transitioned a certain type of solid surface to another company but it took a while for it to all work out. You may have ordered a countertop and had Lowes tell you that we were doing it when we actually weren't, which would lead you to the problems you have stated. Of course nobody ever writes a review from a good experience, but I can assure you, Top Shop is known for its customer service and quality work.

Nathan, the service person arrived this morning and as of 1030 AM, the counter top laminate is all fixed. Nate told me that the leading edge that was loose is applied at the factory and had almost no adhesive on it;
After placing many phone calls to try and set up a time for an estimate, I've finally given up!! They do not return calls!! Apparently these guys are so busy in today's economy they don't need my business. I called Vermont Solid Surface and got a call back the next morning and also a time for them to come to my house and give me an estimate. Good Luck Top Shop! It must be nice to pick and choose your customers.
Nate was great, is very personable, knowledgeable and did a great job. Too bad Curtis is not doing anymore business with the Top Shop, as they seem to be a reputable, customer oriented company. Please pass on my comments to the owner/manager of the Top Shop
I have worked with Top Shop on the supply side for years (I'm a designer).
This is the contractor used by my local Lowe's, very kind and helpful if you can get a hold of them. Lowe's told me I would hear from the contractor in a few days, didn't so the store called them, finally after almost a week they called and setup an appointment for the template. At that point they told us a few weeks before we would be ready for install, 3 weeks later they have not even called to setup a date. After calling several times I finally get someone who tells me they will call me Monday with an install date, its now Tuesday and they have not called back. A warning to anyone who gets stuck with them, you need to keep calling and calling and stay after them or you will never get your counter.
