Dr. Shuman helped me recover completely from the problems I had been having with my gums. He is a thorough professional who truly cares for his patients. I first met him when he operated on my lower left gum to repair an area that had greatly deteriorated and was of concern as it indicated potential for loss of a tooth in that part of my jaw. Not only did he do an excellent job with the repair, he called me at home on his own time that evening to see how everything was progressing and to ask how I was feeling. I was amazed that he had gone out of his way to follow up as I had never had that type of experience before. Everything healed well and my tooth is now secure.

From the first consultation I had, Dr. Shuman was able to allay my fears in a kind, compassionate and respectful manner. He communicates in a manner that diffuses the stress and builds trust. I walked out knowing that he was the dentist for me. When I went in for my procedure, all of his assistants were professional and competent, but they were also gentle and considerate. Dr. Shuman's skill was evident, but he used some calming words during the work that reassured me as he checked in on my well being, diffusing the worry and checking on my comfort. That evening, Dr. Shuman called me to ask me how I was doing. Yes, he did! I know, it was hard for me to believe also. No, it was not a robo call...it was him. I've already recommended Dr. Shuman to two other people. I never thought I would EVER do that. Dr. Shuman is amazing.
